Born free — to clean the toilet
January 17th, 2007 by Wacky Waldo
Who says that having a monkey escape from the zoo has to be a bad thing?
A chimpanzee named Judy escaped from her sleeping quarters at the Little Rock Zoo recently, and before her handlers could sedate and corral the little beast, Judy cleaned out a toilet and wiped down a refrigerator with a sponge.
The 120-pound chimp escaped from her cage and into a service area, and began rummaging through cupboards and a fridge where monkey snacks are kept. Having made a mess of the kitchen area, Judy grabbed a brush and began cleaning the toilet, then she grabbed a sponge and wiped down the already-raided fridge.
Officials said Judy was kept as a pet before coming to the zoo, so that was probably where she learned houskeeping chores.
People, have you not ever seen the later Planet of the Apes movies that show how we enslaved the apes and made them hate us? Don’t teach monkeys to do chores or you’ll doom Chuck Heston to to being captured and tortured by those damn dirty apes.
