Enacard

Enacard
Enacard is prescribed for the treatment and sometimes prevention of
heart failure, dilated cardiomyopathy, and high blood pressure
(hypertension). Enacard is an ACE-inhibitor that decreases the formation
of
compounds and hormones that constrict blood vessels in animals with
heart and
vascular disease. Side effects include changes in urination, decreased
appetite, vomiting, sudden lethargy or weakness. Enacard is indicated
for the treatment of dogs in heart failure due to valve disease.
Enacard acts to ease the clinical signs associated with heart failure
rather
than to reverse the degeneration of the atrioventricular valves or to
resolve the underlying heart disease. A prescription is required.
